A police escort has shot dead three suspected armed robbers at Agosa on the Techiman-Sunyani Road in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The incident is reported to have happened on Monday, July 30, 2018, when the policeman was accompanying some traders in a Sprinter bus.
The Graphic online reports that the bus was travelling from Dormaa-Ahenkro to Yeji, but was attacked by a group of armed men.
The armed robbers, reportedly five in all, then opened fire on the bus, with the driver’s area as the target.
The police escort, realizing the seriousness of the attack, also pulled out his gun and fired back at the armed robbers.
In the course of the exchanges, the policeman shot and killed three of the suspected armed robbers, injuring the rest who bolted.
This comes following numerous other incidents which have resulted in the Police killing suspected armed robbers.

A few weeks ago, seven suspected armed robbers were gunned down by a group of policemen at Asawase in the Ashanti region.
Some days back, another suspected armed robber was shot dead by a police patrol team at Dansoman in Accra.
Although the police has explained that the situations called for their action, a section of the public holds a contrary view, insisting they should be arresting the suspects and not killing them.
