- Kennedy Agyapong has indicated his readiness to pause his work as an MP for a few months
- According to him, he is more concerned about his constituents as the can take care of himself
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has expressed his readiness to leave Parliament for a few months.
His remark was in respect to rumours surrounding his interrogation by the Privileges Committee.
The lawmaker is reported to have referred to the house as a “cheap institution”, a comment that didn’t go down well with his colleague MPs.
He was subsequently referred to the committee and it is yet to take a decision on the matter.
The Assin Central MP unreservedly apologized to MPs and the Institution for using the word ‘cheap’ to describe the Parliament of Ghana.
Reacting to the new development on Adom TV’s Morning Show Badwam, Agyapong stated that he will have no problem with the decision to suspend him for a few months.
This, he explained, is because he is capable of taking care of himself even if he isn’t working as an MP.
He went on to say that he is more concerned about his constituents if he is to pause his work as an MP.
