- The president's appears to have hurt a man from approaching the president
- Some social media users are suggesting that the victime deserves the support accorded another victim of police brutality
Earlier on Friday, YEN.gh.com reported the story of a bodyguard of Ghana's president Nana Akufo-Addo who appears to have punched a man approaching the vehicle carrying the president. It is however not clear when the incident took place.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the victim who sounded like a sympathiser of the president was approaching the vehicle of Nana Akufo-Addo, hailing him and and stretching his hand for a handshake.
But as quick as a flash, the bodyguard of the president stepped in and dealt a blow to what appears to be the neck of the victim. Instantly, the man fell to the ground.
The incident has unavoidably created so much conversation social media. In the wake of police officer assaulting a woman in a final institution some weeks ago, people are asking if the presidency could not have lived beyond reproach.
Soe are even suggesting, albeit jokingly, that the victim here also deserves the support given to the woman abused by the police officer.
Should the abused man sue the presidency, it will be an issue the presidency would want to do away with quickly. But clearly, there are some in Ghanaian public who think he would have a case if he took on the presidency.
