Anas exposé: All 74 referees seen taking bribes suspended

- The referees association has suspended all referee officials seen in the Anas corruption video

- All 74 referees have been summoned to the disciplinary committee

- The Anas corruption video has seen the Ghana Football Association (GFA)

All referees that were seen in the Number 12 video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas have been suspended.

YEN.com.gh cited a press statement from the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) which says the suspension is to give way for the disciplinary committee to determine the fate of all 74 officials.

"All stakeholders of the game of football and the general public that the underlisted referees, assistants referees and retired referees whose names came up in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé have been provisionally suspended pending the final determination of their case by the disciplinary committee of RAG," the statement revealed.

Football activities in Ghana have been halted following investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 exposé. In the piece Anas showed that some GFA executives including the former President, Kwesi Nyantakyi were caught on video misconducting themselves.

The behaviours of the top-ranked members were deemed unacceptable by members of the public. Government's hand was therefore forced to stop football activities.

Government, CAF and FIFA have joined heads to put proper structures in place to see football return in the country hence the institution of a two-man liaison team. The outspoken football administrator has indicated that he is ready to lead the football association when the dust is settled.
