- A level-300 student in South Africa has ended her life after she was violated months ago
- She reportedly took her life in her family home
- The death has been linked to the abuse experience she suffered in May
A student of Rhodes University in South Africa, Khensani Maseko, has taken her own life over what the SRC of the school stated and believed could be because of her abuse incident she suffered months back.
According to reports, the student, Khensani Maseko, was forcibly slept with in May this year.
Maseko is reported to have ended her life at her family's home in Johannesburg in the afternoon on Friday, August 3.
The Rhodes University SRC has expressed shock at the death of the third year BA student. She was an SRC alumnus and a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters.
Khensani's death comes at a time when South Africans are observing Women's Month. Tributes have been pouring in for the young woman on social media, with most posts reiterating the message that "no woman deserves to be molested".
According to the SRC they are yet to come to terms with the passing of one of their own.

A student who spoke on the behalf of the SRC, Nhlakanipho Mahlangu, stated “We know the amount of promise she had to offer us all, I mean to offer the entire country. We’re very shaken, it’s a very difficult time for us as the SRC and we wish her family all the strength and support that we can.”
Tributes and messages of condolences from friends and loved ones have been pouring in on social media.
Some people have also rained curses on the guys who did that to her leading her to unfortunate demise.
