YEN.com.gh earlier reported about a video of the founder and general overseer of the Anointed Palace Church (APC), Reverend Obofour sharing cars at the Tema branch of his church.
In the report, it was indicated that Obofour gave away over 15 cars to people ranging from pastors, singers, and ordinary members in his church.
Prominent among the recipients were Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi of the Glorious Wave Ministries and Efiewura's Auntie Bee. The two got a Jaguar and a Hyundai Elantra respectively.
Obofour also gave a Toyota Highlander to one 'Bishop', a Toyota Corolla to a singer at the church, and a Toyota Yaris one of the workers at Obofour's TV station called O'Neill.
He also gave a Ford car to the wife's sister who has been cooking for him and a Rolls Royce to his wife.
The kind gesture from Obofour, YEN.com.gh understands, was to mark the outdooring ceremony for his newborn son Okyereabeyie Kweku Francis Antwi Adjei Jnr aka Rev. Obofour Jnr. at the Tema Branch of his church.
This ordinarily could have been described as a commendable gesture worth applauding. But it has not been so as social media is divided over the act.
While many have condemned Obofour for choosing to reward people who were not in need, others have defended his decision and commended him.
Reacting to the video, a Facebook user, Kmedia Gh, suggested that people like Obofour were monetizing the Bible:
Maame Yaa responded to Kmedia for his comments about the Bible and told him of his punishment in heaven:
But Kmedia will not take any of that and came back to tell Maame his mind:
Illias felt Obofour's resources would have been better used elsewhere and he sarcastically asked the number of factories the prophet had:
But he was sharply checked by Mobay who noticed a mistake in his comment and thus asked in a like sarcastic manner how nay F9s Illias got in his WASSCE.
Obaa Ajoa had high praise for Obofour and wondered why Ghanaians like to criticise him:
But Prince thought it was a case of Obofour robbing Peter (church members) to pay Paul (beneficiaries):
For Bismark, Obofour could have helped other preachers who are struggling to buy public address systems rather than waste it on celebrities:
But he wrote 'waist' instead of waste and it did not go unnoticed as Becky pointed it out and told Bismark to be perfect before criticising her 'papa'
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported earlier that Reverend Obofour and six other top Ghanaians pastors have been branded as fake.
According to their accuser, a spiritualist called Quotation Master, Obofour and the other six including Eagle Prophet, MOGPA, and Prophet 1, were not using powers from God.
Quotation Master went ahead to reveal the source of the dark powers they have been using.
