- Two EC members have filed a fresh complaint against Former Chairperson Charlotte Osei
- According to them, her actions caused financial loss to the state
Members of the Electoral Commision (EC), have filed fresh complaints against the former Chairperson, Charlotte Osei.
This comes days after the swearing in of the new EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, who was formerly heading the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).
The EC staff, led by two of the members, Forson Ampofo and Godsway Dadjoe, want the Martin Amidu-led team to charge her for causing financial loss to the state.
The petition, YEN.com.gh understands, was filed on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
Details of the petition include the contract given to Aerovote Limited to print pink sheets for the 2016 general elections and the request for the construction of a new EC head office.
Others were issues surrounding her position at Ghana Re-Insurance and a contract awarded to Superlock Technology Limited (STL).
Other issues in the petition included the contract to construct pre-fabricated offices for the commission, a contract to another company called Dreamoval, another one to Quazar Limited, which were all captured in the report of the Chief Justice’s five-member committee that recommended the dismissal of the chairperson of the EC.
According to the petitioners, Charlotte Osei, through her actions, clearly caused financial loss to the state.
