- Waris has returned to France after a short spell with the Portuguese giants
- He has been handed the number 10 shirt
Ghanaian international Abdul Majeed Waris has joined Nantes FC on a season-long loan, the club has confirmed.
The 26-year-old has returned to France after a short spell with the Portuguese giants.
Waris has put pen-to-paper after completing formalities on Monday. He was handed the number 10 jersey.
He is expected to revive his career in the Lique after his struggles at the Dragões.
The former BK Hacken goal poacher signed a four-year deal with the Dragons this summer but has been forced to move out after he was left out of the squad for the new season by manager Sergio Conceicao.
Nantes have stolen the march off Saint-Etienne to prize the former FC Lorient and Valenciennes striker away.
Waris struggled to churn out regular playing time when he joined Porto on loan in January making only five appearances.
Nantes becomes Waris’ sixth club after BK Hacken, Spartak Moscos, Valenciennes, Trabzonspor and Lorient.
Waris made his Black Stars debut in 2012, scoring 22 goals in the process.
