Kidnapper falls asleep after taking Tramadol

- An unidentified man has been found asleep at the home of a woman he planned to kidnap

- His colleagues left him at the house after the woman called for help

- The police say the suspect will be charged after he regains consciousness

A would-be kidnapper experienced an unexpected twist of fate as he fell asleep at the home of his victim.

The suspect, who is yet to be identified, intended to kidnap a pharmacy owner, but ended up sleeping, after he took Tramadol.

According to the Ondo State Police Command, the incident occurred in Owo town on Sunday, August 5, 2018.

Parading the unconscious suspect at the command headquarters in Akure, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph, explained that the suspect and his gang members had invaded a pharmacy in Owo to kidnap the owner.

Joseph went on to say that the three-man gang stormed the store with a gun, but the victim raised the alarm and escaped through the back door.

He added that “…after failing to abduct their target, the hoodlums fled, but one of them stumbled because he was not active again due to the effect of the tramadol he had taken.

“The suspect has been sleeping for more than 24 hours after his arrest while a 400mg tablet of tramadol was found in his pocket”.

The police spokesman said the suspect would be charged to court after regaining consciousness.
