Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that mobile money fraudsters have succeeded in duping one Anas Salifu of an amount of GHC300.
Salifu, who hails from Kassana in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region, claimed that he received a call in which he was informed he had won a GHC65,000 World Cup bet.
MyNewsGH.com reports that speaking to Tumu FM, he explained that he was initially asked to deposit an amount of GHC300 in order to claim his prize.
“Whiles I was in the garden doing some work, a call came in telling me I had won GHC65,000, for taking part in a World Cup competition.
I was therefore asked to deposit GHC300 into a Mobile Money account in order to access his reward."
According to him, he was asked to deposit another GH¢700, but he could not realize the said amount and tried seeking the assistance of a colleague in that regard.
It was then that it dawned on him that he had been duped by the mobile money fraudsters.
Anas revealed that he tried reaching those responsible, but till date, he has been unable to track them down in order to retrieve his money.
