YEN.com.gh has sighted a post by President Akufo Addo revealing that some people are employing the services of men of God and chiefs to Martin Amidu.
The president made this revelation in a post he shared on his Instagram page and sighted by YEN on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
According to him, these people are sending the pastors and chiefs to dissuade Amidu from carrying out his investigations about them.
He added that the people are also trying to get the chiefs and pastors to intervene on their behalf, and warned that they are engaged in a fruitless venture.
President Akufo-Addo indicated that Mr. Martin Amidu’s integrity would not let him descend so low.
Akufo-Addo wrote: “To those who are sending chiefs and men of God to the Special Prosecutor to intervene on their behalf, to try to dissuade Mr. Martin Amidu from conducting his investigations, from the little I know of the man, they are engaged in a fruitless venture.”
YEN.com.gh is not privy to the exact people the president was referring to, but they are defintely members of the NDC with Asiedu Nketia as the general secretary.
President Akufo-Addo appointed Mr. Martin Amidu, formerly a member of National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the Special Prosecutor in January this year.
Since his appointment, heads have been rolling in Ghana concerning who would be on his prosecution list.
Reports have suggested that some forty-three members of the NDC have already made it to Amidu’s list.
Meanwhile, an earlier report by YEN.com.gh also named nine people of the NDC who would be scared over Martin Amidu’s appointment.
Some of them engaged in alleged fraudulent deals and are sure to be investigated by Mr. Amidu.
