- Red Devils fans want coach Jose Mourinho sacked even as the EPL season kicks off tonight
- They want the club's legend Eric Cantona become the next manager of the club
- The French man urged the supporters to expect the best from the club as they begin their campaign against Leicester City
Manchester United fans seem to have lost fate in Jose Mourinho even before the start of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
The Red Devils kickoff their campaign at Old Trafford against former champions Leicester City on Friday, August 10.
However, the staunch supporters have called on United's legend Eric Cantona to take over from the Portuguese tactician after releasing a motivational speech video went viral.
The 2017 Europa League champions failed to land any of their targets on the Premier League transfer deadline day despite the manager's crave for a center back.
Though, they were able to secure the signatures of Brazil midfielder, Fred, while Diogo Dalot came in from FC Porto this summer.
United tried signing England international Harry Maguire before turning to Diego Godin on the last day of transfer window but neither deal actually went through.
Some Man United fans have reservations ahead of their EPL opener against Leicester City but Cantona, who scored 64 goals for the Red Devils urged the fans ahead of the campaign.
In a clip posted on his Instagram channel, Cantona says: "This weekend is the start of the Premier League.
"Man United will play the first game. We believe in the players, so believe in yourselves.
"We are confident you can win the league this year.
And the Frenchman finishes off his speech – which has been seen almost 65,000 times – with a rousing call while holding his fist up saying: "Come on United."
And Red Devils fans were so impressed with the legendary forward’s speech, they wanted him to take up the big job at Old Trafford.
"We need you as the manager," one supporter wrote. Another commented: “You need to replace Jose, Eric.”
While a third said: “Eric would make a better manager at United than Jose!"
Before the close of Thursday's transfer deadline, Spanish club Barcelona submitted bids to sign the Frenchman, but Manchester United turned down the offers.
But Barcelona are also said to be ready to go back for the 25-year-old midfielder before the La Liga window closes on August 31.
