- Police at Techiman commenced investigations into circumstances that led to the escape of three persons on remand at the Nsuta Police cell Saturday night
- The inmates allegedly grabbed the officer on duty and attempted to strangle him to death before they bolted
The police are on the heels of three inmates who escaped from the Nsuta-Techiman police cells in the Brong Ahafo Region on Saturday.
The inmates are reported to have escaped after tricking the policeman on duty into believing that they wanted to ease themselves.
Accra-based Joy FM reports that the inmates bolted in the night after a police officer on duty was trying to help them flush the cell's toilet.

The report suggests there is no direct water source at the toilet facility of the police, and required at least a bucket of water to push down the faeces.
The situation led to the officer on duty electing to help the inmates flash the toilet by providing them with a bucket of water.
But while opening the cell to hand over the buck of water, four inmates overpowered the officer and subsequently escaped from the cells.
The officer on duty, however, managed to gun down one of suspects, but the other three are currently on the run.
Superintendent George Afari Yeboah said the four suspects had been charged with stealing and were expected to be arraigned this week.
According to him, all police points in the Brong Ahafo region have been alerted about the cell break to enable the swift apprehension of the escapees.
