- Shatta Wale has called on President Akufo-Addo to help save Menzgold Ghana from collapse
- According to him, a failure to intervene means President Akufo-Addo does not care about the youth of Ghana
Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has called on President Akufo-Addo to do all he can to save Menzgold Ghana.
Taking to Twitter, a social media platform, he explained that the only way he can prove he cares for the youth of Ghana is to save the company from collapse.
According to him, the recent actions of the president reveals that he isn’t in touch with the youth of the country.
For about a week now, there has been an exchange of words between Menzgold and the Bank of Ghana.
According to the Central Bank, the company has been receiving deposits from its clients, which should not be the case.
The youth, especially social media users, have defended MenzGold and have accused the Bank of Ghana and other individuals of embarking on a covert operation to see the company fail.
In the tweet, Shatta Wale expressed amazement at the fact that Finance Minister, Ken Ofori – Atta is able to exert his authority through the Central Bank.
He added that Ofori-Atta has proven he can bring down Menzgold and this is not in the best interest of the youth of Ghana.
