- Afia Schwarzenegger has mocked all followers of Mensa Otabil following the Capital Bank scandal
- Dr Otabil reportedly presided over financial indiscipline that led to Capital Bank's collapse
Controversial entertainer Afia Schwarznegger has slammed sympathisers of Dr Mensa Otabil in the case involving the preacher and the collapse of Capital Bank. Dr Otabil was a former board chairman of the bank.
Afia Schwar wrote her message on Facebook as she posted a photo spotting a blonde wig, and showed no sympathy for Dr Otabil's people.
Her comments come in the wake of reports that Dr Otabil presided over the period where Capital Bank is accused misusing Bank of Ghana's (BoG) liquidity support.
Afia Schwarzenegger has in the past clashed with various religious leaders. However, the entertainer has professed to being a staunch Christian in the past.
Dr Mensa Otabil is the head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC). The church is one of the biggest charismatic churches in Ghana.
Dr Otabil also presides over a number of investments including the Central University. This is no surprise as the preacher is seen as one of the biggest Christian leaders who are friendly to business leaders.
The issue with Capital Bank is not the first scandal to hit Dr Otabil. He has however responded in defence of his time at the Bank.
