YEN.com.gh has sighted an audio recording making rounds on social media which contains the pleas of a man begging ECG to disconnect him off the national grid.
The man who identified himself as Moses Drybone had reached the call center of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to seek help in getting him disconnected so that his girlfriend would direct all her attention to him.
According to Moses who said he lives in Accra Newtown, his girlfriend was addicted to watching a popular telenovela ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ to the extent that she wouldn’t make time for him even though she was visiting him.
To this effect, he wanted ECG to take him off the national grid for a moment until the time of screening the telenovela was over.
“My girlfriend just visited me and she is watching television all day. She doesn’t have time for me so I want you to off the light so that I will get her attention,” Moses begged.
However, Grace, the ECG staff who answered the call at ECG, told him that his request could not be granted because the company does not deliberately disconnect customers.
But Moses appealed further that his girlfriend was not minding him even as at the time he was making the call, therefore, he must be helped.
Interestingly, Moses Drybone found solace in the ECG staff’s voice calling it “very sweet.”
After enquiring from the ECG staff is she was married, Moses then said “If you are married then help me too to marry,” insisting that ECG should disconnect him so his girlfriend would pay attention to him.
He went further to say that he would have married Grace but for the fact that she was already married.
Moses Drybone stressed that he was desperately waiting on ECG to restore his relationship and to be able to marry his girlfriend.
