- DKB has refuted reports that he was paid to support the late Ebony Reigns' tribute concert
- According to the comedian, he did not receive any money for his contribution
- There has been a raging issue between Bullet and the father of Ebony about some money
Ghanaian comedian and former Big Brother Africa housemate, Derrick Kwabena Bonney, popularly known as DKB, has added his voice in the ongoing issues about money involving the father of late Ebony Reigns and her former manager, Bullet.
In a self-recorded video spotted by YEN.com.gh on the Instagram account of the comedian, he was seen ranting over the issue and expressing his disappointment in the sudden turn of events.
He revealed that he was worth more than the paltry GHC 1000 that had been written against his name in a list that has started circulating on social media believed to be coming from Bullet.
DKB defended Bullet and indicated that the said piece of paper was fake and should be treated with the contempt it deserved. He went and took late Ebony’s dad, Mr. Nana Opoku Kwarteng to the cleaners over the latest development which sought to drag his name in the mud.
In short, DKB revealed that he did not receive any form of payment for his contribution as emcee durng the tribute concert held in memory of Ebony Reigns.
“Look at my face, Do I look like a GHC1,000 artist? Even my head alone how much will my head take….? What kind of nonsense is this?” he said.
“Don’t you see every publication from Ruff Town Records has their logo and well-typed and everything? Look at this toilet paper they’ve written, as if it looks like Nov/Dec answer sheet. Even the handwriting looks like someone who has running stomach” he added.
“You Ebony’s father, what do you want from Bullet? What do you want from him; funeral money, he’s given to you, fundraising, he’s given to you, even all the songs, he’s given to you and you’re still harassing him. If it was Bulldog or Shatta Wale who discovered Ebony, would you have done this nonsense?”
Mr. Nana Opoku Kwarteng and Bullet have been engaged in a verbal banter over money related to Ebony Reigns. Father of the late act is reported to have indicated that the list which had a breakdown of expenses, was given to him by Bullet.
Some artistes including Coded of 4X4 fame and Keche have also denied taking any money for their stage appearance during the tribute concert which was held on March 23, 2018.
