- The historic victory saw Griezmann brutally troll Sergio Ramos
- The move left football fans divided, with some accusing the Frenchman of being disrespectul
Atletico Madrid star forward, Antoine Griezmann, has savagely attacked Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos after lifting the UEFA Super Cup.
Atletico defeated the European champions 4-2 on Wednesday night, August 15 to condemn their rivals to a humiliating defeat.
Former Chelsea forward, Diego Costa, opened the scoring within 49 seconds before Karim Benzema restored parity for Madrid in the 27th minute.
Sergio Ramos made it 2-1 minutes later from the penalty spot, with Costa equalising 16 minutes later for Atletico.
The match was forced into extra-time, with Spanish pair Saul Niguez and Koke sealing a historic victory for Atletico.
However, Griezmann, who was unconvincing during the tie took some time out to aim a dig at Ramos on Instagram moments after the win.
The Frenchman shared a photo of himself sitting on a throne while holding the Super Cup ball with the Madrid captain suggestively crowning him.
The move elicited mixed reactions online, with a section of fans terming it disrespectful.
A few weeks ago Griezmann was widely linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu and Barcelona, but the transfer did not materialise.
A fallout that the striker has since applauded, asserting that he is glad he stayed at Atletico.
