Meanwhile, newly-signed Inter Milan midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah, makes a return to the national team after a four-year absence.

The 29-year-old has not featured for the Black Stars since playing in the 2014 World Cup, having been blighted by a series of niggling injuries.

The squad also reportedly includes three debutants in Obeng Reagan, Joseph Aidoo and Ernest Ohemeng.

Some other senior players who have been left out of the squad to face Kenya are Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Jeffery Schlupp, John Boye and Albert Adomah.
