- Chelsea beat Arsenal in five-goal thriller
- The win was Chelsea's second win after two games
Chelsea defeated Arsenal 3-2 on Saturday at the Stamford Bridge on match day 2 of the 2018/2019 English Premier League.
The Blues went into the game from the backdrop of a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town while Arsenal lost 2-0 to Manchester City.
In the game Chelsea dominated the Gunners in the opening minutes of the game – their dominance paid off on the 9th minute as Pedro Rodrguez broke the deadlock.

Alvaro Morata doubled Chelsea’s lead on the 20th minute after he was put through on goal by Ngolo Kante.
Arsenal began to warm themselves into the game as they mounted pressure on the home side.
Mikhitaryan reduced the deficit on the 37th minute after he connected home Iwobi’s low cross.
Four minutes later, the Gunner pulled even courtesy Iwobi’s strike.
From recess, Chelsea mounted intense pressure on Arsenal but Cech prevented the home side from scoring.
Arsenal failed to come to terms with Chelsea’s swift play, however, with 8 minutes left on the clock Marcos Alonso restored Chelsea’s lead with a fine finish.
On the 88th minute, Chelsea came close in scoring their fourth goal but Cech punched away Giroud’s strike.
Despite Arsenal's late scare Chelsea held on to win the game.
