- The NDC Constituency Organizer for Gomoa East has been reportedly lynched by unknown people
- The police have began investigations and have arrested two people including a sub-chief at Gomoa Kweikrom
- Some residents of the town have taken to the streets and called for justice for the deceased man
YEN.com.gh is in possession of photos which shows some residents of the Central Region wearing red clothes and taking to the streets.
Information available shows that they are calling for thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Prince Mensah.
The deceased, who was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Organizer in Gomoa East, was reportedly found dead at Gomoa Potsin junction about a month ago.
Preliminary police investigations concluded that he was knocked down by a vehicle and left to die.
But subsequent investigations by the police revealed that the NDC Constituency Organizer was lynched by the suspects and dumped there.
On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, some angry residents besieged the Dominase police station, accusing the police of a cover-up.
But the Dominase District Police Commander, ASP Paul Ankan has denied the allegations.
He said investigations are ongoing to arrest more suspects linked to the crime.
The residents appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Attorney General to ensure the suspects face the full rigorous of the law.
Meanwhile, two people including a sub-chief at Gomoa Kweikrom in the Central Region are in police custody with respect to the case.
A brother of the deceased, Kofi Mensah, said thugs allegedly hired by the sub-chief in the town inflicted cutlass on his brother’s body.
