- The MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has cautioned sacked Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, against taking another government appointment
- He explained that it will reduce Agyarko to a laughing stock
- Boakye Agyarko was recently relieved of his duties as Energy Minister
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has cautioned the Former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, to reject a future offer of appointment from the government.
According to the MP, a decision to go contrary to his suggestion will reduce Agyarko to the status of a laughing stock.
The lawmaker, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, stated that some ministers plotted Agyarko’s exit.
“I know all those gossips at the presidency and ministers who planned Agyarko’s sack. I will mention all their names at the right time,” he fumed.
Agyarko lost his job following his involvement in the renegotiation of the controversial AMERI power deal.
Though a statement signed by Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin did not state why he was relieved of his post, many are certain the AMERI deal was the reason.
It has also been alleged that, Boakye Agyarko’s dismissal was after the President was allegedly misled into approving the new AMERI deal which had been rejected by Parliament through an Executive Order.
