Despite the pleas of Jose Mourinho, Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic has reportedly turned down a chance to join Premier League side Manchester United.
Since joining the Italian champions in 2015 from Spanish club Atletico Madrid, Mario Mandzukic has been an important player for Juventus.
And according to the report by Calciomercato, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was desperate to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer, but Mario rejected the move.
The report added that Mourinho known as the 'Special One' had identified Mario Mandzukic as a top priority, but the player was persuaded to stay at Turin by the Old Lady chiefs.
Juventus are also said to have guaranteed Mario that he would still be an important member of the squad and his money will be raised for him to stay.
Mario Mandzukic led Croatia attack at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in France and scored three goals in the championship for his national team.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how 32-year-old Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic retired from the Croatian senior men national team after winning silver medal at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg striker played 89 games for Croatia national team scoring 33 goals before he hanged his boots.
