Ghana’s Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe made his first defence of his WBO World super bantamweight after blowing out Japanese warrior Hidenori Otake last Saturday.
Dogboe stopped Otake in round one. He dropped his challenger twice en-route to the stoppage.
Following his win, Dogboe has expressed his intention of unifying the super bantamweight division later this year.
With that ambition YEN.com.gh brings you the top five next opponents for the former Olympian:
1. Rey Vargas
He is undefeated in 31 professional bouts. He is WBC World super bantamweight champions. alongside Dogboe and TJ Doheny, he stands as one of the only three champions in the super-bantamweight division to remain undefeated.
He won the vacant WBC title against Gavin McDonnell in February 2017 and successfully defending it twice. A unification between these two unbeaten fighters would make for a scintillating affair.
2. Daniel Roman
Roman holds the WBA World super bantamweight belt. He won the belt in 2017 against Shun Kubo. He has defended it twice against Ryo Matsumoto and Moises Flores. After his win against Flores he called out Isaac Dogboe and the Ghanaian accepted.
3. T.J. Doheny
Doheny became the IBF World super bantamweight champion after dethroning then Ryosuke Iwasa this month. He is undefeated and a unification bout against Dogboe won’t be bad.

4. Guillermo Rigondeaux
Having not fought after losing to Vasyl Lomachenko at super-feather in December 2017. Rigondeaux has not lost at super bantamweight since becoming lineal champion in that division. A former unified champion, a victory for Dogboe against the great Cuban amateur would propel him on the world stage
5. Diego De La Hoya
Diego is the nephew of boxing great Oscar De La Hoya. He is currently the number contender for Dogboe’s strap. If Dogboe fails to land a unification bout against the other champions he will be ordered to face Diego.
