- The Blues are now occupying second position on the League table with 12 points
Chelsea on Saturday, September 1, maintained their perfect start of the new season by beating visiting Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
But the Blues had to wait till the 72nd minutes before substitute Pedro Rodriguez scored the first goal for Maurizio Sarri's men.
Spanish striker Alvaro Morata lost many scoring chances in the first half as the Blues would have sealed the victory in the first 45 minutes.
Chelsea will also have goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga to thank for his superb saves as he denied the duo of Adam Smith and Joshua King on numerous occasions.
The Blues' first goal came in the 72nd minutes when Frenchman Olivier Giroud delivered a perfect assist for Pedro to score just seven minutes after he replaced Willian.
Giroud himself had a chance to increase the scoreline for Chelsea in the 84th minute, but he was denied by Asmir Begovic.
Chelsea scored their second and winning goal in the 85th minute through Eden Hazard who was assisted by left back Marcos Alonso.
The Blues are now occupying second position on the Premier League standings with 12 points after four games played.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Eden Hazard's younger brother Kylian left Premier League giants Chelsea for a loan move to Belgian club Cercle Brugge where he will be until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder failed to make it into Maurizio Sarri's first team at Stamford Bridge and had to leave for him to continue his development.
