- Jose Mourinho says there was never a plan for him to sign Ronaldo in the transfer window
- The ex Chelsea gaffer added that Juventus signed him for them to win the Champions League
- Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford this season as Juve and United are in the same Champions League group
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he never thought of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club during the recently closed transfer window.
Before Cristiano Ronaldo completed a world record move to Italian champions Juventus, there were reports that the Portugal international wanted to make a return to Old Trafford.
But this season, Ronaldo will make a return to Old Trafford as his club Juventus have been drawn in the same Group with Manchester United in the Champions League.

And after his side's win over Burnley in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho explained that Juventus signed Ronaldo because they want to be champions of Europe.
"Juventus is one of the teams in Europe that invested to win the Champions League because they don't need to invest to win the Scudetto.
"The objective is clearly to win the Champions League, which they were close twice when they reached the final, so they are a top team in Europe that made one of the biggest spending. I think after Liverpool it must be them.
"Cristiano was never on my table to say 'yes' or 'no' to Cristiano to come to us. It was never on the table,'' the ex Chelsea boss said according to Express UK.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has played three games with his new club in Italy and he is yet to score a goal for Juventus
