-A security analyst, Emmanuel Kotin, has called for the arrest of Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also known as General Mosquito
- According to Kotin, General Mosquito's comments about vigilante groups were treasonable
-General Mosquito is alleged to have endorsed vigilante groups in the NDC
The Executive Director of Africa Centre for Security and Terrorisms, Emmanuel Kotin, has called for the arrest of the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
According to him, Nketia’s comments about the emergence of vigilante groups in the NDC was unfortunate.
Speaking on Joy News, Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, is reported to have stated that groups such as Hawks in the NDC, is an “an appropriate natural response” to the failure of the Akufo-Addo government to rein in its party vigilante groups.
He is reported to have earlier stated at the party’s regional congress held in the Ashanti Region that he fully endorses the Hawks as a vigilante group for the party.
Other groups include ‘The Dragons’ based in the Brong Ahafo Region and ‘The Lions’ based in the Eastern Region.
Kotin however argued that any serious country conscious of its security would have arrested General Mosquito to answer questions over his treasonable comments with immediate effect.
He therefore urged the security agencies in the country to be up and doing.
He also blamed both NDC and New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the upsurge of vigilante groups in the country.
