Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Moura has been crowned August's Premier League player of the month.
The 26-year-old was impressive for the Spurs in his side's first three English topflight encounters - scoring three goals in the process.
He was also superb for Mauricio Pochettino's men in their 3-0 demolition of Manchester United at Old Trafford late last month.
The former Paris Saint Germain superstar beat Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk, alongside Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy, Cardiff City goalkeeoer, Neil Etheridge and Roberto Pereyra were also in contention for the award.
"It is difficult to explain what I am feeling," Lucas told Premier League website after being presented with the award.
"I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy.
"I waited a lot for this moment and I need to enjoy and to keep working because I believe I have much more that will come."
Meanwhile, Watford boss Javier Gracia is the winner of the manager's category of the August edition of the award.
The Hornets are one of the few clubs yet to drop points in the 2018-19 EPL campaign as they rank third on the tog behind Liverpoo and Chelsea.
Gracia beat competitions from Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, Spurs' Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri to win the prize.
Watford opened with a 2-0 home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion before winning 3-1 at Burnley and then overcoming Crystal Palace 2-1 at Vicarage Road all in August.
Reacting to the award, Gracia told the Premier League official website that: "I am very pleased,"
"We are enjoying [it]. You never know what will happen. Don't look only at the end of the road.
"Try to enjoy day by day. Try to enjoy the very good atmosphere, the workers who are helping us, the supporters in all the games are amazing.
"I think altogether we can achieve very good things."
NAIJ.com previously reported that Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk were listed among the players contending for the August Premier League player of the month award.
Other stars included shortlisted for the prestigious award include Chelsea wing back Marcos Alonso and Machester City star Benjamin Mendy.
Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura, Watford's Roberto Pereyra and Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge complete the seven man lift for the contention of the award.
