- Wendy Shay seems like she is struggling under the weight of judgement against Ebony
- Her new song in the dancehall genre and is titled 'Astalavista'
Budding Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Wendy Shay, has found that the journey to the top is a bit difficult. Especially when considered that Shay was moved to the forefront as if she was intended to replace the late Ebony Reigns.
Shay is managed by the same team that did the job for the late Ebony. Rufftown Records is managed by Ricky Nana Agyeman, also known as Bullet.
Now, Shay has a music video for a new single "Astalavista." There is however something anyone familiar with Ebony's career would see with Shay's new piece.
The song is a normal one with a dancehall rhythm. But the video to Wendy Shay's Astalavista itself seems like a throwback to Ebony's videos.
Indeed, one can say that even Ebony herself copied or reminded music lovers of older female artistes who used their femininity to their full marketing advantage in videos. However, this does not take the pressure off Shay.
Earlier, we reported how Wendy Shay was a victim of relentless social media mockery after she was spotted at an awards show. Social media users felt she was poorly made up for the night
