- Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah was made the country's chief security expert by the late John Atta-Mills
- The security expert said that he did not think John Mahama was a man capable of accepting the truth
Former National Security Advisor, Brigadier-General Nunoo Mensah, has revealed that he believes he was booted out of his position by John Mahama because the then President of Ghana could not handle the truth.
The retired military man was made Ghana's topmost advisor to the president on security matters by late president, John Evans Atta-Mills. He was however removed from his post about a year into Mahama's administration.
But it seems Nunoo Mensah has chosen this time of all other to tell why he believes he was sacked. According to a report first carried by Mynewsgh.com, Mensah says Mahama cannot handle the truth.
Nunoo Mensah reportedly said: “How do you replace me; someone, who trained at Sandhurst with Baba Kamara because you say I speak the truth?”
“So if President Mills chose me as the first of appointees for telling the truth, I will never lie in my life, I have never lied in my life.”
John Mahama has declared his intention to lead the National Democratic Congress into the general elections of 2020. But Nunoo Mensah hopes Mahama is not given the opportunity to lead the country again.
According to former security chief, all the 11 people seeking to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2020 elections are not individuals worthy of the presidency because they cannot offer honest leadership.
