- Samini has called on the general public and lovers of dancehall music to forgive Stonebwoy over his recent comments
- Samini indicated that Stonebwoy made his emotions and anger get the better of him
- Stonebwoy was recently interviewed on radio and he made some comments directed at Shatta Wale
Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, Andrews Samini, popularly known as Samini, has called on the public to forgive Zylofon Media signee, Stonebwoy, after he went ‘berserk’ during a live radio interview on Accra-based Hitz FM.
According to a report sighted on Myjoyonline.com, Samini, who was speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, pleaded with the public to pardon Stonebwoy because he was reacting to a situation as sensitive as the death of his mother.
While there have been mixed reactions to the comments made by Stonebwoy, Samini has said ‘his boy’ spoke out of emotions and should be pardoned.
“…In defense of Stonebwoy, because I am a dad to him in the industry, I say we should cut him some slack because he got angry and emotional about an issue concerning his mum who has passed away…” Samini revealed.
Samini said he was happy with the kind of unity the new artistes are showing in the industry.
He, however, noted that same cannot be said about those who have been in the industry for many years now.
He said the likes of Kuami Eugene, Kidi and others had done well to co-exist with each other despite doing almost the same genre of music.
“…It’s not so unified up there but for the new ones coming up, I see some serious cohesion between them. I see the likes of Kidi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise and the rest under one roof and the kind of vibe that you see amongst these people who are supposed to be competing is priceless,” he said.
“It’s a lovely thing that they should keep because it’s going to trickle down to the generation that will be looking up to them…,” Samini told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.
Stonebwoy in an interview on Yaad Settings on Hitz FM with King Lagazee on Sunday September 9, angrily lambasted Shatta Wale and questioned his sincerity.
“You go and say I killed my mother and come back and text me that you want peace, you want to make music?” he fumed.
Stonebwoy went on to reveal other ‘secrets’ and revealed how Shatta Wale almost got beaten up if it had not been for the intervention of Bola Ray.
The ‘People Dey’ singer indicated that if Ghana were to be Jamaica, Shatta Wale would have been dead.
Stonebwoy then dared his dancehall colleague or any other person to stand in front of him and point finger at him for killing his mother.
The rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale is not a new thing. The two award-winning acts who are signed unto the same entertainment house have been noted as ‘sworn enemies’ by the media.
