Former United Nations (UN) Secretary General, Kofi Annan was finally laid to rest Thursday, September 13, 2018.
The burial ceremony of the Ghanaian diplomat took place at the Accra International Conference Centre, before his body was laid to rest at the Military Cemetery at Burma Camp in Accra.
Hundreds of persons from far and near thronged the venue to pay their last respects to the late Kofi Annan, including dignitaries from all over the world.
But as is common with most funerals, the moods of some persons could not be ignored as they tried to come to terms with the fact the the ex-UN General Secretary is no more.

Tributes have poured in from family, friends and loved ones for the late Ghanaian diplomat.
The sermon for the day was delivered by Reverend J.O. Akrofi. The Winneba Youth Choir also performed a beautiful song which was greeted by applause.
Born in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana’s Ashanti region, Annan devoted four decades of his working life to the UN, and was known for projecting quiet charisma to the role.
Annan was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001, as the world was reeling from the September 11 terror attacks in the United States, jointly with the UN “for their work for a better organised and more peaceful world”.
Mr Annan, a Ghanaian national and nobel peace laureate, died on August 8 at the age of 80 after a short illness.
Annan is survived by his wife Nane Maria, children and grandchildren.
