- Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin tended in his resignation as head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Thursday
- Fabin becomes the 4th coach to either leave or be fired from a Ghana Premier League club since the Anas exposé halted football activities
Head coach of Asante Kotoko Paa Kwesi Fabin has resigned from his role as technical head of the club.
The former Black Starlets coach officially communicated his decision to the management of the club on Thursday.
Fabin’s resignation comes just seven months after he was appointed as coach of the Porcupine Warriors.
He was appointed in February as replacement for Englishman Steve Polack, who was sacked following the club’s woeful performance in the CAF Confederations Cup.
In a resignation letter that has been leaked in the media, Fabin said he is quitting because of his “personal conviction that it is time to bow out due to circumstances beyond my control”.
''I write without any malice to inform you that I am resigning as Head Coach of your club Asante Kotoko Club. Effective September 13, 2018 this decision have become necessary because of my personal conviction that it is time to bow out due to circumstances beyond my control,” the former Hearts of Oak boss said.
“Moreover, I deem is the right time to exit as the league here has been suspended and above all to enable any replacement to be able to familiarize with the team and continue with the success chalked so far.
''I want to thank the Executive Chairman for giving me the opportunity to work with him, the management team, the playing body and the supporters for their encouragement during the rough times.
''To those that we had disagreements and misunderstanding, I say it is part of the job. Once again, thank you for the opportunity.''
Meanwhile, Kotoko will be without a substantive coach when the club takes on Ashanti Gold on Sunday.
But Footy-Ghana.com has reported that officials of Kotoko had received a film of the coach discussing terms with South African National First Division side Maccabi FC.
