Seven pupils have been reported dead in a gory accident involving a truck carrying manganese and a Mercedes Sprinter bus at Dompem on the Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road in the Western region of Ghana.
According to a report by Graphiconline.com, the bus carrying the students of various schools in the area, was heading home from school.
Eyewitness reports also suggests that the speeding bus carrying the students run into a stationary heavy truck carrying manganese from a mining concession.
Initial police report says several others were injured and the casualty could rise.
Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to Apinto Hospital and Tarkwa government hospital where they are said to be given emergency care while those in critical condition have been referred to the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital.
Some parents have thronged to the Apinto Hospital to identify and find out the condition in which their children are in but have been prevented by health personnel from entering the emergency centre due to the numbers.
