A section of the mud bungalow inhabited by the Northern Regional police commander, DCOP Timothy Yossah Bongah, has reportedly collapsed.
The incident, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Mynewgh.com, has rendered the police commander and his family homeless.
The incident reportedly happened at about 6pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 when the police commander was not at home.
However, no causalities or injuries were recorded.
According to the wife of the police commander, before the building collapsed at about 4 pm, she saw that some of the materials used for the building were falling off bit by bit until at about 6pm when that section of the house finally collapsed.
Police preliminary investigations at the scene revealed that the building was made up of old burnt bricks and mud with little or no cement.
The investigations further revealed that the recent heavy downpour got that section of the building weakened, hence the collapse.
YEN.com.gh will follow this new development and update readers with details when and as they come in.
