Barcelona beat PSV 4-0 in Champions League battle

Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona on Tuesday night, September 18, began their campaign in the 2018/19 Champions League will an emphatic 4-0 win over visiting PSV Eindhoven.

Argentina international Lionel Messi was in a great form at the Camp Nou scoring three goals for the Catalan giants.

Lionel Messi scored his first goal for Barcelona in the 32nd minute through a fantastic free kick after Nick Viergover brought down Frenchman Ousmane Dembele.

Ousmane Dembele himself netted the second goal for Barcelona in the 75th minute as he benefited from a glorious pass by Philippe Coutinho.

Croatia international Ivan Rakitic provided the assist that helped Lionel Messi to score his second goal for Barcelona in the 77th minute.

But Barcelona were reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute when Frenchman Samuel Umtiti was shown a red card for a bad tackle against Luuk de Jong.

That does not stop Barcelona from scoring as Lionel Messi scored his hat-trick in the 88th minute after an assist from Luis Suarez as the Catalan giants won the match 4-0.

Lionel Messi is now the first player in Champions League history to score eight hat-tricks in the competition.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi reportedly told the club to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
