Liverpool beat PSG 3-2 in Champions League encounter

- Liverpool on Tuesday night defeated PSG 3-2 in Champions League game

- Daniel Sturridge, James Milner and Roberto Firmino scored the goals for the Reds

- Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe netted the two goals for Paris-Saint-Germain

Brazilian football star Roberto Firmino came off the bench on Tuesday night, September 18, to score the winning goal as Liverpool defeated PSG 3-2 in Champions League encounter.

Paris-Saint-Germain would have themselves to blame for losing this match at Anfield as they also had the chance to win the game.

Englishman Daniel Sturridge netted the first goal for Liverpool in the 30th minute as he gained from a great cross by Andrew Robertson.

Six minutes later, Georginio Wijnaldum was brought down by Juan Bernet in the 18 yard box in which the referee gave Liverpool a penalty.

James Milner stepped forward to score the penalty sending Alphonse Areola the wrong direction.

Paris-Saint-Germain came back into the game in the 40th minute when Thomas Meunier pulled one back for the French champions. Kylian Mbappe scored the second goal in the 90th minute.

The vising fans were hoping their team would leave Anfield with a point before Roberto Firmino broke their hearts as he scored the winning goal for Liverpool at stoppage time.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Premier League giants Liverpool are said to be interested in the signing of Nigerian and Super Eagles winger Moses Simon Ajala.

Newcastle and Brighton are also keeping vigil on the recuperating 22-year-old winger who currently plies his trade with Belgian side Gent.
