YEN.com.gh has sighted a video of something unusual which has happened in a Christian church. A pastor has given away offering received during service to a needy church member.
In the video, it could be seen that many church members were taking turns to give their offering but after some time, the head pastor announced that God had told him to give away the offerings to one member.
He thus called a woman 'living in lack and sadness' who brought with her a big polythene bag to start packing the plenty money amid sobs.
According to a Facebook user, Femi Brainard, who shared the video, though he did not know the exact origin of the video, he got impressed by the pastor's gesture and decided to share the video.
"I am speechless. I can only thank everyone that has reached out to me because of this video. I feel honored. Truth is, I do not know anything about this Church nor the Godly gifted pastor. I saw it on a friends status who said he also copied it from another source. and decided to share. You can also copy the link and save unto your different devices. We all need Gods favour in our lives and I take this medium to call on God favour, Blessings, Success and peace of mind for whoever watches this video or has reached out to me. God Bless," Femi captioned the video.
YEN.com.gh checks revealed that the incident happened at the CCC Genesis Global (Isheri Outreach) in Lagos, Nigeria and the pastor is known as Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe.
Since the video hit social media, many people have been praising the pastor for his gesture.
Temitope was speechless:
Kuku reacted in a similar fashion:
Toyin was impressed:
Ajibola suggested Prophet Ogundipe had been doing such gestures often:
Bushboy was left in tears:
Prophet Ogundipe's kind gesture comes at a time when many of his contemporaries in Ghana have been lambasted for their ostentatious lifestyles.
From making outlandish claims to showing off their wealth, not a single day passes without a report emerging of a prophet doing shocking. Obinim and Obofour being the names which pop up most.
