The video suggesting that the newly built Terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport had been flooded after a downpour in Accra has turned out to be a hoax.
In the video, vehicles could be seen stuck water and finding it difficult to move about at a place said to be the newly built Terminal 3.
The short video which went viral on social media on Monday evening following some in Accra got many Ghanaians expressing varied opinions.
Popular lawyer and social media activist, Ace Ankomah, was one of the first people to share the video on social media.
Captioning it "our brand new T3 flooded?", Ace Ankomah sounded very surprised about the development.
Well, his surprise may not have been far-fetched as the recently-commissioned Terminal 3 has drawn praise from many Ghanaians and foreigners who have used the facility
The $250 million project which was initiated by former President John Mahama in 2015 and commissioned by President Nana Akufo-Addo in June 2018, has been described to be state-of-the-art
But later checks revealed that though many parts of Accra got flooded as a result of the rain, the Terminal 3 was not affected as the video suggested.
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a Ghanaian pilot, Captain Solomon Quainoo, who flies the world's biggest aircraft is expected to fly his plane to the Kotoka Terminal 3 on Tuesday, October 2.
The one-off flight by Captain Quainoo with the Emirates Airbus A380 is to commemorate the opening of the Terminal 3.
The Airbus A380, which carries between 525 and 853 people depending on class configuration, is expected to test facilities and infrastructure at the new terminal.
It is not known if the new fake video and reports will affect Captain Quainoo's historic flight.
