- The Ghana Aiports Company has vehemently denied social media reports that the newly constructed terminal 3 at the KIA was flooded on Monday following the heavy downpour in Accra

Reports that the Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport got flooded following Monday’s heavy downpour appear to have been exaggerated and to some extent false.
The multi-million-dollar facility was reported to have been flooded after heavy rains hit some parts of Accra Monday.
In a video that went viral on social media, a huge heap of water was captured flowing through an airport, which was captioned as that of the Terminal 3.
However, a latest report, backed by photo evidence, by the Ghana Airports Company Limited indicates that reports of the facility getting flooded were exaggerated.
Some photos posted on their Facebook page showed the Terminal 3 still very much clean and dry, without any floods hitting the place.
The ultra-modern terminal was finally opened for operation on September 15, 2018 following the completion of tests and simulation exercises.
The Terminal 3 has five levels spread across an area of 48,268m² and semi-closed areas for the Baggage Make-up Areas of 28,260m².
It also boasts ultra-modern facilities and capacity to handle 5 million passengers a year, as well as six boarding bridges and 7 links.
