Award-winning Highlife musician Ofori Amponsah has been accused of venturing into the Gospel Ministry due to his quest to feed on tithes and offertories.
According to a close associate of the singer, Kofi B, he always knew that everything was fake and orchestrated.
Kofi B said he laughed when he heard Ofori Amponsah had become a pastor, adding that he predicted the church his colleague established will not last.
“I laughed when he said he had become a pastor. He was after their offertories and tithes. I met one of his members and dared him that if the church lasted for more than a year, he should come for money,” Kofi B said, as quoted by MyNewsGh.com.
Ofori Amponsah came under the spotlight some time ago after it was reported that he had been ordained as a pastor. The Highlife artiste consequently gave up his career in secular music to focus of his religious commitments.
His decision saw him venture into Gospel music, which even earned him a nomination at the Ghana Music Awards (GMA).
But in a rather shocking development, he made a quick U-turn back into Highlife music, quitting his pastoral duties in the process.
In a recent interview, the ‘Alewa’ hit maker explained that he was only a member of the church he set up and not the head pastor, as speculated.
