- Vice President Dr. Bawumia has stated that Ghanaians will suffer more if the NDC returns to power
- According to him, Ghanaians need to drum home the achievements of the NPP for all to hear
- His message was in response to remarks by John Mahama to the effect that the present government has failed to honour most of its electoral promises
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has argued that Former President John Mahama’s return to power will cause more harm than good.
In a meeting with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in Accra, Dr. Bawumia said living conditions of Ghanaians will be worse if Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assume office.
According to him, it will be simply suicidal for Ghanaians to hand over power to the NDC, as they have nothing good to offer.
Former President John Dramani Mahama, who is on a campaign tour across the country to reclaim the NDC ticket for the 2020 election, initially accused the government of poor economic management.
In his opinion, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lied its way to power, and has failed to deliver on its audacious promises including one district, one factory, one constituency, one million dollars and one village, one dam.
He specifically took a swipe at Dr. Bawumia, saying he was only good at giving lectures on the economy whiles they were in opposition, but he’s struggling to manage same now that they are in power.
Dr. Bawumia however countered by saying that the best way to prevent the NDC from returning to power is to drum home the achievements of the NPP within these few months in office.
