- Some angry clients of Menzgold have blamed the struggling state of the company on President Akufo-Addo
- They said they were enjoying smooth operation and services with Menzgold under the NDC until Akufo-Addo and the NPP came to power
- The Menzgold clients have vowed to teach Akufo-Addo a lesson for causing Menzgold’s downfall
Some aggrieved customers of the embattled Menzgold Company Limited have accused President Akufo-Addo of causing Mengold’s frustration.
These clients have argued that they had had a long-time smooth relationship with Menzgold over the past years until Akufo-Addo and the NPP came to power.
They registered their displeasure with the president about the current state of Menzgold in an interview with GHOne TV as monitored by YEN.com.gh.
The GHOne reporter had visited the East Legon branch of the company to speak with the clients who had converged at the company’s premises.
While some of them expressed extreme disappointment in Menzgold for the ‘no show’ in payment, others squarely blamed President Akufo-Addo for the situation.
According to one of the clients by name Prince, Menzgold had been paying their monthly dividends smoothly with no hitches since it started operation, and when Mahama and the NDC was in power.
However, Akufo-Addo’s tenure has not recorded such success with Menzgold.
To this client, Nana Appiah Mensah and Menzgold were in for genuine business, but the president and his people have done all they could to frustrate Nana Appiah Mensah.
It is in this vein that he, together with other angry clients, vowed to teach Akufo-Addo a bitter lesson he won’t forget.
“We had done business with Menzgold for a long time and we experienced no issues till the coming of Nana Addo and the NPP. This is not what we voted for. Nana should wait for us, we will show him something,” the angry clients charged.
Meanwhile, many of Menzgold’s clients have gathered at their offices every day in a bid to withdraw their investments.
This follows a directive by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) to Menzgold to halt its operations.
Since then, the customers who have felt insecure about their investments have trooped the company branches for their money, but to no avail.
The payment of dividends and principal amount to the clients have been postponed for the third time, and this is causing uneasiness among Ghanaians.
One customer said she had invested GH₡100,000 and was scheduled to receive her returns on that day but only saw notices on the buildings that announced that the company had ceased operations temporarily.
Another customer also said she invested an amount of GH₵24,000 with Menzgold just a few days before it was closed down.
Meanwhile, Menzgold’s new Head of Communications, Nii Amarh Amarteifio has explained why they had to postpone the payment.
