Koku Anyidoho may cause an upset in NDC’s elections - Ben Ephson

- A pollster, Ben Ephson, has disclosed that NDC's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia may lose his position to his deputy, Koku Anyidoho

- He explained that NDC's delegates may hold Nketia responsible for the party's challenges before and after the 2016 elections

- He added that Anyidoho enjoys a growing support in the party and that could swing the votes in his favour

Popular pollster and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Dispatch newspaper, Ben Ephson, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Johnson Asiedu Nketia, may be replaced by his deputy, Koku Anyidoho, as General Secretary.

Speaking on Kasapa FM’s morning show, Anopa Kasapa, he explained that Anyidoho has been a long serving member of the party and commands a lot of respect.

He added that the Deputy General Secretary enjoys a lot of support from the party’s delegates, and may be picked over his boss.

According to him, Anyidoho could cause a surprise, if he puts his campaign message well; well enough to convince delegates on how he intends to strengthen the party ahead of the 2020 general elections.

If Koku does his campaign well, knowing that Asiedu Nketia also caused the defeat of the party, Koku could win and that will be a punishment for Asiedu Nketia,” he argued.

He went ahead to say that “Asiedu Nketia, as CEO of the party takes praise and blame for all that happens to the party, and I suspect that delegates will say based on what is going on, they need another person, and on that score, Koku can win. Of course you are the CEO, the party has had a humiliating defeat, and after that there has been a litany of complaints.”

His comments follow that of Asiedu Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, who accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of interfering in NDC’s elections.

He revealed that the NPP has indirectly lent support to Anyidoho, in a bid to ensure that he (Nketia) loses the party’s elections slated for December 2018.
