Police arrest two Delta Force members after confusion hits an MP’s meeting

- Two members of the vigilante group, Delta Force, have been picked up by the police

- Together with three others, they caused confusion at a meeting organized by the MP for Old Tafo, Dr. Anthony Osei Akoto

- Several items were damaged and some people were assaulted, but the MP was whisked away to safety

Two members of a vigilante group, Delta Force, are currently in police custody, after they disrupted a meeting organized by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo, Dr. Osei Akoto.

Dr. Akoto, who is also the Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation, was whisked away to safety, after the suspects invaded the meeting and proceeded to cause commotion at the venue.

According to reports, Delta Force claimed they were upset over the several unfulfilled promises made to them by the MP and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in general.

Confirming the arrest, the leader of the group said “the police went ahead to arrest two of our men. So they’re in police custody.”

He added that the even though five members of the group orchestrated the attack, the leadership of the group is collaborating with the police to get the other three arrested.

Describing the conduct of his colleagues as “condemnable” he said they are planning a meeting with Dr Akoto Osei to render an unqualified apology for the actions of the five.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported of the attack of people gathered at the meeting, and indicated that the value of items destroyed run into millions of Ghana cedis.

Members of the Delta Force group reportedly slapped some party executives present at the meeting.
