YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghana’s ‘Highest’ rapper Sarkodie, has released a 'diss' track to seriously attack Shatta Wale.
In a new ‘diss’ song titled “Advice”, Sarkodie doled out loads of insults to Shatta Wale, cautioning the dancehall artiste to be wary of him.
Sarkodie called Shatta Wale names and said though he boasts of riches, he is actually poor. "Who gives a f*** with your chicken change property?”, Sarkodie is heard saying.
The award-winning rapper further described Shatta Wale as a fool who is always making noise about money even though his bank balance cannot buy a brand new car.
Apart from 'dissing' Shatta Wale used parts of the song to speak highly of himself and how he wants to leave a footprint on the Ghanaian music scene before he eventually retires.
The song is both stinging and biting and for followers of music, it will definitely pass as one of the best ever 'diss' songs in Ghana's history.
It is therefore not surprising that the song has been trending like wildfire since Sarkodie dropped the video on social media on Wednesday.
But one interesting twist the song's release is that it has received a lot of attention from colleague celebrities who have unanimously applauded Sarkodie's track.
Musicians and other celebrities Captain Planet, Bisa K. Dei, Efya, Joey B, Edem, Trigmatic, Sister Derby, and Pono Biom have all given their thumbs up to the song.
Others also hailing the song include Prince David Osei, Afriyie Wutah, Lil Win, Guru, Peace Hyde, Sista Afia, Opanka,
For many of them, the song was fire and attested to how talented Sarkodie is as a rapper.
Funny enough, Benedicta Gafah and Toosweet Annan who happen to be Shatta Wale's colleagues at Zylofon Media were part of the supporters of Sarkodie.
Sarkodie's song, it must be said, comes after weeks of 'was of words' which was started by Shatta Wale who stated in an interview that he felt disrespected by Sarkodie when he failed to shoot a video for their ‘Megye wo girl’ song but rushed to shoot a video with Patoranking for their “No Kissing” collaboration song.
Since that time, Shatta Wale has constantly attacked Sarkodie at every given opportunity with occasional responses from the rapper.
This must be the pinnacle if Sarkodie's response and we live to see how Shatta Wale will respond as the song seems to have been well received by celebrities and ordinary Ghanaians.
