The father of a four-year-old girl is currently fuming after his daughter’s teacher severely lashed her, leaving marks all over her body.
Emmanuel Agyekum was left very incensed after his Kindergarten Two girl came home with severe bruises on her body.
The little girl, who attends New Page School at Kokomemle in Accra, is reported to have been whipped by her teacher for failing to do her homework.
Mr. Agyekum said when he confronted the said teacher, he was told to take the matter wherever he wants.
Explaining how things happened, the little girl’s father told Accra-based Joy FM that this is not the first time that his daughter has come home with nursing wounds on her body.
According to him, it was about the fourth time that a teacher had beaten his four-year-old daughter in such a manner.
“This is not the first time. I think this has happened on three or four occasions. And today when I saw the girl I wasn’t happy at all,” he lamented.
“I went to the school and the teacher exchanged words with me. The teacher said she [little girl] doesn’t do her homework or the homework wasn’t done with her handwriting. The little girl said her brother did it for her.”
Mr. Agyekum called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to take action against the said teacher for assaulting his daughter.
Meanwhile, the GES has previously warned teachers to desist from dishing out corporal punishments to students, however, most schools appear not to heed.
