Entertainers everywhere are supposed to know how to blow their own horns. It is therefore not such a bad thing to find that Kanye West and Shatta Wale know how to stay in the headlines.

Trying to stay in the headlines comes as a result of two things for a musician. First, there needs to music that people actually enjoy, and two, generate enough noise for people to sit up and pay attention.

While the generation of noise comes as charity work for some people, for others, it is controversy among other things.

No two artistes do better than Shatta Wale and Kanye West when it comes to making music and controversies. therefore compares their similarities:

1. Both West and Wale have a personal relationship with their presidents

Maybe for the presidents, it is an opportunity to present themselves acceptable to a particular group of people. But it would not matter to Shatta Wale and Kanye West.

The two artistes have boasted about being personal friends of their presidents and they have the presidential invitations to prove it.

2. Both men believe they are bigger than just musicians

In the United States, there is currently ongoing a very divisive debate over whether Kanye West has the ability to speak on political issues. Whatever people feel, West himself believes his opinions are adequate.

In Ghana, Shatta Wale has been found talking on some "hard topics" as well. For instance, in the Menzgold affair, Wale thinks the gold dealership are breaking no rules even though legal minds say they are.

3. Both men have a high opinion of themselves and love the controversies

Kanye West has compared himself to some of the best creative and business minds who have ever existed. Shatta Wale thinks he is the richest ever modern Ghanaian musician.

If we should list the instances both have intentionally tried to cause controversy, we would need a whole year.
