Pastor drowns in flood in attempt to protect church offering

A pastor's attempt to save his church's offering has ended in disaster as he got drowned in a flood chased by a heavy downpour.

The incident reportedly happened at Apapam, a town in Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

According to a report YEN.com.gh sighted on Adomonline.com, the pastor, Reverend Isaac Assiamah organised a mega crusade on Wednesday and Thursday.

All the money accrued from the offering taken was stored stored in the church's offertory bowl and was supposed to be taken to the bank on Friday.

However, on Thursday night, it rained so heavily that thewhole town got flooded.

The flood got into Assiamah church and destroyed everything. The flood also took away the church’s offertory bowl .

In an attempt to rescue the offertory bowl, the pastor was reported to have been drowned in the flood.

Residents in the town later found his body few meters from his house and deposited it at the morgue pending autopsy.

They lodged a complaint to the police in Kyebi who have began investigations.
