Datalink University courses, fees and admission requirements
Not long ago, a young man named Earnest Ansah studied at Pope John Secondary School in Kiforidua before joining the University of Ghana. After studying Psychology, he ventured into Information Technology and International Business in London. His love for education was part of the reason he came back and establish Datalink. His wife was the co-founder, while Prof. Jacob Nortney is listed as a fellow principal officer. In this article, we give you an insight into the courses offered in the institution, the admission requirements, and the fees you'll pay for the given courses.

Datalink Institute (DLI), also known as Datalink University College, aims to provide the best possible learning environment for all students. The university also boasts its ability to reach research and moral development in line with international standards set by its compatriots in the west. Datalink University College affiliations include Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. It is also affiliated to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

School of Business Administration
As part of the programs offered at Datalink University, the School of Business Administration is key to nurturing students with a corporate mindset. The institution aims to enable students to become academically and professionally functional in managing the organization. Part of the objectives of this school include training students to acquire skills that can help them manage an organization effectively.
They also aim to train students on the basic skills required in business which ensure job retention and placement. At Datalink University School of Business Administration, students are also taught self-reliance and given the tools needed to start businesses and grow into established entrepreneurs. The school is divided into four departments including the department of accounting and the department of banking and finance.
The remaining two are the department of marketing and management studies and the department of human resource management. These departments allow a student to pursue the following academic programs.

The School of Computer Sciences

Apart from business, Datalink University in Ghana also offers computer-related courses and is among the best in that field at the moment. The institution provides students with programs that offer requisite skills for attaining and keeping jobs as a graduate or even on certificate level. Datalink University seeks to enable students appreciate the value of efficient designing, enabling them to blend easily with competitive job market. At the moment, the university has only two departments under this school in operation.
- Department of Information Communication Technology

These two departments further subdivide the academic programs offered in this school into two; the Bachelor of Science in computer science and graduate programs. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science offers the following;

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (JUST, China)

The School of Computer Sciences also offers activities such as workshops, industrial trips, conferences, research and innovation, seminars, industrial trips, and admission drives among others. Being that these activities are practical, the university has the ability to improve its internalization agenda, which should be key for every learning institution.
Seminars hosted by the university include ‘Securing Data in the 21st Century and Cyber Security in the 21st Century'. Datalink University also offers industrial attachments and other forms of the internship as part of its activities in a bid to bridge the gap between academics and industry. This school also offers human resource development to encourage staff development in the school. As a result, more offices have been opened and more positions regularized.
At the moment, seven lecturers are about to attain their Ph.D.'s in various fields and will prove pivotal for the university in a few years.

Each of the courses offered under this program has different entry requirements. Here are the Datalink pre-university admission requirements for the International Certificate in Logistics and Transport – CILT.
Senior High school
This is one of the Datalink pre University admission requirement.
- GCE Ordinary/Advanced levels (minimum credit pass) or equivalent professional qualifications for the program
Datalink University requirement for mature students
- If over 27 and do not meet the academic requirements, students will be required to sit for Mature Entry exams but only for the certificate level.
- Candidate must successfully complete four (4) modules through examinations (3 compulsory and one optional)
Compulsory models include Supply Chain Operations, Business Applications, and business theory. Examples of optional courses include warehousing management, inventory management, passenger transport operations, procurement, freight transport operations, transport planning, and green logistics to mention a few.
2. International Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport Programmes
The Charter Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT, UK) is among the Datalink College affiliations that make it possible for such a course to be advertised in Ghana. This course offers in-depth knowledge, confidence boosts, enhanced skill levels, and professional advice to mention a few to its students. Datalink university admission requirements for mature students are a wee bit stringent when it comes to this course with only the following people allowed to enroll.

The three compulsory modules are supply chain operations, business applications, and business theory. Their optional models include but are not limited to, warehousing management, inventory management, passenger transport operations, procurement, freight transport operations, transport planning, and green logistics.
Datalink University also offers a diploma in logistics and transport DILT as well as its ADILT counterpart. The rules for these two are a little different compared to the certificate entry discussed earlier but only in terms of the number of modules per course. However, before downloading the file, be sure to remember the documents the school demands accompany the application. These include;

Here are the entry requirements for these different categories.
Category One
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)
- The general requirements for admission of WASSCE, SSSCE and GBCE candidates to the B.Sc. (Accounting) Programme are three (3) credit passes in three core subjects and three (3) credit passes in three relevant elective subjects.
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Candidates: Credit
- Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
- West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
- General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
Category 2
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates
- Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
Category 3
- Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Candidates
- The candidate must possess the Full Diploma Certificate in ABCE. Also, the applicant must have had credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) or West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
- ABCE candidates will be considered for admission at level 200 of the Programme.
Category 4
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Applicant must have graduated with a good HND certificate (i.e. at least 2nd Class Lower Division). In addition, the applicant must have acquired a 2-year post-HND qualification working experience.
- Other Diploma qualifications from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND by NAB shall be considered.
- HND and other equivalent Diploma candidates will be considered for admission at level 200 of the programme.
Category 5
- Partly Qualified Professionals
- Must have passed all subjects at Level I or Level II of ACCA, ICA, CIMA or other equivalent professional qualifications in Accounting.
Category 6
- Mature Applicants
- Be at least 25 years old, and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth.
- Applicant must pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination in English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test.
Category 7
Foreign qualifications
All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for determination of equivalences and eligibility before admission is offered into the Programme.
